Paul Gilman

 

Paul got started in barbershop during his senior year at The Ohio State University when encouraged by his Uncle Stan to attend a Singing Buckeyes rehearsal. After graduation, Paul moved home to Cincinnati and transferred to the Southern Gateway Chorus. Paul took over as musical director of SGC in August 2000. Paul has sung baritone in each of his quartets, including the 1987 international champions Interstate Rivals and the 1995 international champions Marquis. He was the 2001 SGC Barbershopper of the Year, is a member of the Johnny Appleseed District Hall of Fame, and was recently inducted into the Aiken High School Hall of Achievement in recognition of his achievements. Paul is a senior manager of business applications for The E.W. Scripps Company in Cincinnati where he has been employed since 1988. He and his wife Debbie reside in Cincinnati with their yellow lab Carson.  Paul's daughter Marie continues the buckeye tradition as a sophomore at The Ohio State University.  To email Paul, click pgilman@cinci.rr.com.
