Jay is a 38 year barbershopper and lives in Louisville, KY with his wife Kathy. He has worked at UPS for 26 years and enjoys coaching BHS, SAI, and HI groups and sings with the Southern Gateway Chorus, Cincinnati, OH. Jay has won five district quartet championships (1 at baritone and 4 at bass). He also won International Medals in 3 quartets (The Interstate Rivals - 1987 International Gold Medal Quartet Champions - bass, The Naturals - 1992-1993 International Bronze Medalists - baritone and Marquis - 1995 International Quartet Champions - bass). Jay was the director of the Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus for three years and lead them to a Cardinal District Championship and a Top 20 finish in the BHS International Chorus contest in 2005. Jay is extremely proud of his wife & daughter, front row singers in the Pride of Kentucky Chorus and daughter Kristina's - Lucky Day - quartet and son J.J. who sings with the Kentucky Vocal Union Chorus.
